Oh dear Aaron...

UPDATE: TMZ reported Aaron Carter says the police targeted him because he is a celebrity.

The publication also spoke to Carter's rep who said Carter was on the road promoting his new single when his car went out of alignment and went to get it fixed at an AutoZone.

The rep also said the singer was not in the car at the time of the arrest and apparently there is surveillance footage to prove this.

The publication was also told Carter has a medical marijuana license for his anxiety.

His older brother Nick Carter shared a tweet asking his brother to reach out for help.

Aaron was not impressed with the social media gesture.

TMZ reported this statement on their website.

“If my own blood truly cared about my well-being, why wouldn’t he call me directly and have a conversation instead of making this about him through a very public forum?

That’s not cool at all to use me for his PR and kick me while I am down.

"I love my family despite it through thick and thin.”

Carter's bail was set to US$4,610 , he has now been released on bond.

Girlfriend, Madison Parker's bail is set at US$4,360 remains in jail but is eligible for bond.

ORIGINAL STORY: Aaron Carter isn’t the same ‘I Want Candy’ singer as we all remember.

In fact, he is completely the opposite after this weekend.

TMZ reported and confirmed that Carter has been arrested in Georgia on charges of DUI refusal, possession of less than 28 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia.

The singer was pulled over by Habersham County sheriffs on Saturday night.

TMZ reported that Carter refused to take the breathalyser or test his blood and urine to see whether he was intoxicated.

News.com.au reported that his photographer girlfriend, Madison Parker, who was in the car with him, was charged with possession of marijuana and obstruction of law-enforcement officers.

Additionally, a few hours before the arrest Carter tweeted that he would be unable to make a performance in Kansas City due to "transportation issues."

What makes this situation quite interesting is that only a few days before Carter made a smart comment about Shia LaBeouf’s most recent drunken incident.

TMZ got hold of a video of Aaron in his hometown of Tampa, Florida last Monday saying “You won't catch me getting any DUIs… I don't even drink."

Hmmm… well that didn’t last long.

We miss the ‘I Want Candy’ Aaron Carter.
