Scott Cam

We had no idea!

Scott Cam has been on our screens for almost two decades, but we never realised Cam isn’t his actual surname.

The presenter uses Cam, but that’s actually a shortened version of his last name which is Caminetti.

The star first kickstarted his TV career in 1999 on Backyard Blitz and he’s been using the shortened version of his name since then.

It’s unknown why he uses the shorted version, but he revealed in his biography the moment he was approached at the pub to audition for his first TV show.

“Initially I thought he was joking and said ‘No, I’m right thanks mate!’ Anyway it turns out he was legit, I did the screen test and got the job.”

He appeared on Backyard Blitz for seven years before it was cancelled in 2006. Scott went on to do more presenting with shows such as Our Place, Domestic Blitz and Renovation Rescue.

When Jamie Durie didn’t return for season three of The Block, Scott signed on as host.

Since then, he’s enjoyed a lot of success, winning the Logie for Most Popular Presenter and the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television.
