Disney+ Dropping Sooner Than We Thought And It's Cheap AF

YASSS.

Get excited, guys, Disney+ has finally announced its Australian release date and it’s much sooner than expected – oh, not only that, but it’s actually affordable.

Australia will actually be one of the first five countries to gain access to the streaming service. It launches in the US, Canada and the Netherlands of all places on November 13, then on November 19 it’ll be available for Australia and New Zealand.

In a press release, Disney announced it will cost Aussie users either $8.99 a month or $89 for the full year. A standard Netflix account costs $13.99 a month and a standard Stan account is $14 a month, so Disney+ is one of the cheaper streaming services available.

They said, “Disney+ will launch in Canada and the Netherlands in tandem with the US on November 12th, priced at $8.99CAD per month (or $89.99 per year) and €6.99 per month (or €69.99 per year), respectively.”

“The following week, Disney+ will launch in Australia and New Zealand on November 19th, priced at $8.99AUD per month (or $89.99 per year) and $9.99NZD per month (or $99.99 per year), respectively.”

They added, “Disney+ will offer fans of all ages a new way to experience the unparalleled content from the company’s iconic entertainment brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more, and will be available on nearly all major mobile and connected TV devices at launch with global distribution agreements in place with Apple, Google, Microsoft, Roku, and Sony.”

According to Gizmodo, Disney confirmed earlier this year that the first episode of The Mandalorian will be available from the launch date of the service.

At the moment Australians are able to watch a lot of Disney’s titles on Stan, so if you don’t plan on getting Disney+, I’d recommend watching as much of that content as you can now!

Some of the original Disney+ shows include:

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

The Mandalorian

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Monsters at Work

Diary of a Female President

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (season 7)

Loki

WandaVision

Marvel’s What If…?

Hawkeye

Untitled Cassian Andor series
