The Exact Moment Lisa Wilkinson Decided To Leave Today Revealed

"That was the exact moment I decided..."

It was one of the biggest moves in Australian television when Lisa Wilkinson made the decision to leave Today and head for a seat on The Project.

It was wildly reported the decision was made after a gender pay gap dispute involving her former co-hot Karl Stefanovic.

But Peter Helliar may have found the real reason.

During The Project's tenth birthday on Friday night, Lisa was faced with an embarrassing clip with Karl while they were working on Today together. They were taking part in a Wii Fit curling challenged and from the cameras perspective, it didn't look PG.

While watching it back, Lisa had her head in her hands saying:

"It was about half way through that I realised what Karl was doing and I tried to look less like what he was doing.

"That was the exact moment I decided, "I think I want to go to Channel 10,"' she joked.

Friday night's two-hour special of The Project celebrated the show's 10-year anniversary, with the panel looking back on its best moments.

The team took time to celebrate each other's achievements with Carrie Bickmore being named as "The Captain" of the show:

The team even made a collect call to New York to chat to one of the OG's of the panel, Charlie Pickering:

Congratulations on 10 years to The Project!
