Former Bachelor star in court on drug charges
Georgia Tripos, a contestant on Richie Strahan’s season of The Bachelor in 2016, has appeared in court charged with trafficking cocaine.
Georgia and friend Kristiana Karakostas faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday for a committal hearing to decide whether they will stand trial, reports news.com.au.
The 26-year-old was allegedly caught with $3,500 cash at her home, and $2,000 and $1,136 cash in purses inside her car.
When asked where the cash had come from, Georgia was unable to give an answer, with her defence lawyers arguing the money may have been obtained legitimately.
Also found in text messages downloaded from both women’s phones was mention of a substance called ‘M’. Again, her lawyers argued a jury would be unable to speculate on what ‘M’ stands for. Er, same.
Georgia and her friend were arrested and charged in March, with a Victoria Police spokesperson telling Daily Mail they were found with “a large quantity of drugs.”
