Another one bites the dust.

And another one of the Today show line-up bites the dust.

Following the recent departures of Peter Stefanovic, Karl Stefanovic, and Richard Wilkins, Sylvia Jeffreys will also not be part of the Today show's line-up in 2019.

In a new statement from Channel Nine to The Daily Telegraph, Sylvia will not return to Today as a news reader.

However, like Karl, she will stay with the network and work on other projects.

“I’ve loved and embraced every minute of my Today show chapter and feel humbled to have worked with so many passionate people — hosts, studio crew, cameramen and producers — who have become my great mates.”

As for what Sylvia will be working on next, nothing has been confirmed yet but it is reported that she's being moved into a juicy prime time spot.

“I’m thrilled to sink my teeth into a brand-new project.

“Opportunity often knocks when you least expect it and I’m ready to dive right in to what’s ahead of me."

The network head of news and current affairs Darren Wick praised Sylvia for her work on Today, stating:

“Sylvia has done a great job on Today, and while the team there will miss her, she is about to embark on an exciting new challenge. Watch this space in 2019."

“Sylvia is one of Nine’s hardest working, most talented and passionate journalists.”

With Sylvia's departure, Georgie Gardner is the sole remaining original cast member and she will be joined by Brooke Boney, who will be Today's entertainment reporter.
