Tributes Flood In For Late Home And Away Star Ben Unwin
The actor was 41 years old.
In tragic news this week, it's been revealed that former Home and Away star, Ben Unwin, has passed away.
As Yahoo Lifestyle reports, the 41-year-old actor, who held the role of Jesse McGregor, was found by police responding to a call for his safety.
He was discovered at home last week.
A spokesperson for police issued a statement via the outlet on the sad news:
"Police attended Minyon Falls, Whian Whian, responding to a concern for welfare.
"The body of a 41-year-old man was located. The death has not been treated as suspicious," they said.
A number of Unwin's former castmates have made public statements regarding his passing.
Ada Nicodemou, whose character Leah Patterson-Baker was romantically linked to Jesse, spoke with Yahoo Lifestyle.
“I just woke up to the tragic news of Ben’s passing, my heart goes out to his family,” she said.
Actress Kimberley Cooper shared a touching message for Unwin via Instagram:
"My first TV Week cover was with you. We had years of laughter, be it giggles on set trying to get through scenes as lovers or doubled over belly laughs at the pubs after work," she wrote.
"I will be sad for now, but I promise to tell stories of great joy about our times together. You forever hold a special place in my heart. Love you, Onion."
Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene Roberts, told The Daily Telegraph:
"What a terrible tragedy. Sending my deepest condolences to his family and friends."
Writer Dan Bennett also shared words of love for Unwin with a touching tweet:

"The cast and crew of Home and Away are saddened to hear the passing of Ben Unwin. Ben played the character Jesse McGregor and joined the cast in 1996 - 2000, returning to Summer Bay in 2002 - 2005. We send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ben."
