Rabbitohs’ Sam Burgess Facing AVO

He is expected to appear in court on 6 November.

Rabbitohs forward Sam Burgess will be in court on 6 November after he was allegedly involved in an incident in the New South Wales Southern Highlands.

It’s reported police were called to a house at Bowral on Saturday afternoon after Burgess and his father-in-law Mitchell Hooke allegedly had an altercation while visiting his children Poppy, 2 and Billy, 10 months. There have been no reports of any injuries.

An apprehended violence order application involving Burgess is due to come before Moss Vale local court on 6 November.

The alleged incident follows Burgess’ split from his wife Phoebe Burgess, who was reportedly not at the house at the time of the incident. She is yet to comment about their break up.

Burgess’ NRL career has been uncertain after a series of shoulder injury setbacks this year.
