Record-breaking heatwave forecast for Brisbane
Who said summer was over?
South-east Queensland’s copping a heatwave this week with the weather bureau warning tempurates could soar above 40 degrees.
Today’s expected to be the hottest day of the week for Brisbane with a forecast of 36 degrees so bust out that fan and head to the servo for a Slurpee.
The state could break records if the mercury heads above 40, Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist David Crock has told the Brisbane Times.
"We've actually never recorded a temperature in the 40s in the south-east coast district in March, which extends to Toowoomba and the Scenic Rim."
"This means if we do see a temperature over 40 tomorrow that'll be a first and we may see a couple of records fall in terms of March maximum temperatures."
