Here’s What You Can Expect At Shawn Mendes’ Tour
He'll be in Australia in October
Shawn Mendes has just kicked off his massive worldwide tour in Amsterdam, and in less than seven months he will be bringing it to Australia!
More than 1 million fans are expected to attend the 2019 tour, which includes 97 shows across four legs.
Based on Shawn’s recent Instagram posts, the show looks incredible - but did you expect anything less?
To get you excited for his trip down under, we’ve created a list of everything you can expect to happen on Shawn Mendes: The Tour.
If you hate spoilers, don’t read ahead!
Based on his recent shows, the setlist includes 20 songs from all three of his albums, opening with Lost In Japan and closing with a medley of Coldplay’s Fix You and In My Blood.
From his latest self-titled, Shawn performs every song except for Because I Had You, Queen and Perfectly Wrong.
He sings five songs from his album Illuminate (including the bops Mercy, Treat You Better and There’s Nothing Holding Me Back), and four songs from his debut album Handwritten.
Unfortunately for early members of the Mendes Army, Shawn doesn’t sing his song Something Big, but he does belt out Life Of The Party on the B-Stage.
Another notable addition to the setlist is I Know What You Did Last Summer, his 2015 duet with Camila Cabello which wasn’t performed on his last tour.
1. Lost in Japan
2. There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back
5. I Know What You Did Last Summer / Mutual
6. Bad Reputation
7. Never Be Alone
8. Life of the Party
9. When You’re Ready
10. Like to Be You
12. Treat You Better
13. Particular Taste
14. Where Were You In the Morning?
15. Fallin’ All In You
19. Fix You / In My Blood
Say what you want about Shawn’s music, but you can’t deny how aesthetically pleasing his set designs are.
While his last tour had a giant blue moon hovering above the centre of the arena, this tour includes a giant rose that changes colours.
Shawn also provides fans with free LED bracelets that light up the arena, an idea he admits he ‘stole’ from Taylor Swift’s recent tours.
Alessia Cara is joining Shawn for his European, U.S. and South American dates, but so far no one has been announced for the Australian dates.
The 2018 best new artist Grammy winner has never toured Australia before, and in 2016 when she was the opening act for Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams tour she didn't join them down under.
Who knows who will open for Shawn in October!
Shawn has plenty of merch on sale at his concert, including t-shirts, hoodies, track pants and caps in a number of colours and styles.
T-shirts will cost you around $50, while the most expensive item is a blanket for 120€, which converts roughly to $192.
The designs of the merch vary from hoodies featuring Shawn’s tattoos, to more plain shirts with lyrics printed on.
Our favourite is the rose t-shirt with tour dates on the back.
