‘Keto Crotch’ Is The Gross AF Side Effect Of Ditching Carbs

The Ketogenic diet, which is basically the 2K19 version of the Atkins diet, has some icky side effects.
If you’re planning to shred by jumping on the Keto (aka no carbs) bandwagon, you may want to think again.
Bad breath, headaches and diarrhoea are all side effects of the popular health trend, which favours fat and protein over carbs for energy.
But now people are complaining in droves about the diet causing their downstair area to smell and, really, this should be the only reason you need to steer well clear of Keto.
There’s no solid research to suggest ‘Keto Crotch’ is an actual thing, but it doesn’t mean everyone’s downstairs is lying.
Women’s Health likens the phenomenon to bad breath caused by the keto diet. When your body is in ketosis it produces chemicals naturally in your bod which, in excess can make your poop, pee and breath stanky.
When the publication spoke to gynecologist Jessica Shepherd MD, she suggested that smelly vag on the keto diet could be caused by changes to the body’s pH level.
“Any diet can change your vaginal pH,” she told Women’s Health, which can then lead to the growth of odour-producing bacteria, which, ew.
