Turns Out We've Been Playing UNO Wrong This Whole Time
I'm sorry WHAT?!
If you're anything like us, the word 'UNO' brings up a LOT of feelings.
We're talking wins, crushing losses, forgetting to say the damn word when down to one card and of course, rage-heavy table flips and storm outs.
But while these emotional snapshots are easy enough to associate with the popular card game, it turns out there are a few things we often forget like IDK... the rules.
Yup! Turns out the majority of us have been playing UNO wrong - those temper tantrums were not necessary! Our vindication is now at hand! - as exposed by one Facebook user.
A number of meme accounts have shared the revealing post across social media - including Facebook account 'Bitch Code' - absolutely floorin' users.
Essentially, the Draw 4 Wild Card is a little different to the other Wild Cards in that it can only be used if you have no other cards to play which match the color of the card previously played. In addition, if you play this card illegally, you may be challenged by the other player to show your hand. If guilty, you need to draw 4 cards. If not, the challenger needs to draw 6 cards.
Aside from a slew of comments boasting about how they, 'always knew this', social media users (and, yes, most of us) have largely focused on two things.
1. Existential angst
"... questioning my whole life now. Am I even f**king playing go fish right?!"
2. The promise of violence
"Do you want Uno to be even more violent because this is how Uno becomes more violent..."
A quick look at the official rule card from Mattel - a fancy PDF version, it's 2019 - confirms the rule.
And that's not all, apparently you can't stack Draw 2's on Draw 4's?! What is this world coming to:
Which is all well and good but one question still remains.
Will we change our ways?
Probs not tbh.
